Vietnamese rice now has the highest export prices, distinguishing itself from key competitors, including Thailand and Pakistan, whose prices have fallen.
Currently, Viet Nam ranks 15th among countries exporting rice to the UK, making up a modest 0.42 per cent of the total import turnover to this country. That means the door is wide open for Vietnamese rice in the market.
While 2020 has been a successful year for Vietnamese rice exports, more must be done to accelerate the development of the national rice brand, experts have said.
Viet Nam is aiming to develop a Vietnamese rice brand that would become
the world''s leading rice by 2030, according to a project approved by
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung last week.
